ALEC Upgrades
First, in case you are wondering, ALEC is an acronym (or perhaps backronym) for Après Lodge Event Computation.

ALEC has a sister; ADA - Après Day Accounting. ADA is used for non-lodge events and is a simpler program. She will receive lighter upgrades later.

ALEC's upgrades are listed below:
  1. Bed selections: As an aid to leaders, the pull down room and bed list now shows only beds not yet allocated. Where a person stays only 1 day a bed may be re-allocated using the general - bunk - or - deluxe - designation. Use the comment field for notes.
  2. More listings: Listings for checks, Paypal, cash and coupons now available.
  3. Coupon withhold: In the Options module, Options may be checked to force coupon withholding for such things as "dinner only" and "offsite attendance". This is principally for the Paypal calculator.
  4. Income reported on Names page: The expected income is now reported on the attendee name entry page as participants are added.
  5. Improved Chore List editor: The chore list editor and sign-up table are now more user friendly.
  6. Improved and more convenient error reporting using the JavaScript activated Alert window which may be clicked OK to continue working. Reported are where inputs conflict with Après' rules or guidelines for lodge events. The reports are listed below:
    1. Comp for captain requires more than 11 (currently) sign-ups at line #.
    2. Comp for assistant requires more than 17 (currently) sign-ups at line #.
    3. Coupon not required at line # (when attendee comped.)
    4. Event must have a captain.
    5. More than 1 captain not allowed.
    6. More than 1 assistant not allowed.
    7. More coupons than payment at line #.
    8. Attendee name repeated.
    9. Bed usage repeated (should not now be activated with upgrade #1).
    10. FYI - You are permitted a comped assistant.
    11. You are comping # persons and do not have an assistant. A comped assistant requires more than 17 sign-ups.
  7. Parameter editing: The following parameters may be edited from within the BOD login page. These parameters are loaded when a new event is created and remain with that event. Parameter changes apply only to future events:
    1. Attendance required for captain to stay free. Cannot be changed within ALEC.
    2. Attendance required for assistant to stay free. Cannot be changed within ALEC.
    3. Blue coupon value. Cannot be changed within ALEC.
    4. White coupon value. Cannot be changed within ALEC.
    5. Deluxe suppliment. May be changed from within ALEC.
    6. E-mail address for Paypal notification. May, and probably should, be changed from within ALEC.
  8. Web page creation: This is in the final stage of development. From within ALEC an event web page may be written by the leader which takes a number of inputs automatically from ALEC. It will be especially important for generating the correct parameters for the Paypal Calculator.
