“What Is That On My Jello??”
And Other Excerpts, Paraphrases, and Enhancements to/from the Diary
of Linda ‘Mc’Indreboe, regarding St. Patty’s Day Weekend at the Lodge
Compiled by Erin Barnett
Friday March 12th
Got to the lodge about 9pm…Barry Caffee did most of the decorating, including hanging the lights twice
while Erin, um, supervised beer in one hand, jello shot in the other…Susan showed up with Shepard’s Pie
about 10pm and it was quite good…the Don Breedlove green Jello shots just weren’t Irish enough somehow,
so I got out the gallon of Bushmill’s Irish Whiskey and starting giving the Jello shots “floaters”…this
must have inspired John S. to find his Irish side as he was drinking Alcohol all evening…I went to bed
about 12:30 but the party carried on past 2:00…
Saturday March 13th
Didn’t someone tell the breakfast crew that breakfast would be late? All cooked and mostly cleaned up by
the time I got up…I will find out who put the note, “Lightweight Linda” on the whiteboard, Henry you can’t
hide from me forever…most of the crowd headed to Northstar for skiing, but others headed to Alpine… weather
sunny & warm, snow in great shape & good skiing everywhere…upon returning to the Lodge, was greeted by Craig
Payne with the Saturday batch of Jello shots, Bushmill’s floaters already poured…keg of green beer tapped
and flowing soon thereafter…breakfast crew should have talked to Erin, she clearly knows how to serve a meal
late (she claims the skiing was just too good to stop…fortunately the lifts closed)…boiled corned beef dinner
with potatoes and carrots was great…everyone looks so CUTE in their green hats! Barry almost blends in with
his green skirt and green shoes…over half the group headed to Tradewinds, hats & all, to spread some Irish
cheer and dance to a good R&B band…kept partying until 1:30a, Lightweight Linda my shamrocks…
Sunday March 14th
Good thing I picked up Bloody Mary fixins along with that Bushmill’s and Bailey’s…nothing like some spicy
chorizo and a Bloody Mary to fix that Jello/Bushmill’s hangover…a plan is born: left over Bushmill’s and
remainder of green keg to go to Al Castro’s for consumption on the 17th…promised not to add green food
coloring to his hot tub…packed up the lodge and headed to Sugar Bowl along with most of the group…weather
sunny & warm, snow in great shape…its so great to be us!!
