Thursday night approached with Thunder Storms a
blazing. Seven of us were at the Lodge. The Partying
began in front of a rip roaring fire. I brought out
my secret stash of really good wine. Of course the
Hot Tub played a roll. Tee-hee. It was Lisa Saxe,
Richard Fisher, Brenda Cash, Georgiana Rudge, Dan
Hoeffer, Sandy Saadi and Ray Muggli. Friday morning we
all went out to Breakfast at the Post Office and at
Noon the work began.
Lisa, Brenda and I went to Carson City to buy the
goodies for the weekend. I told Lisa and Brenda that
the group would be going first class. We hit several
stores and I was awed at being in the presence of such
professional shoppers. My Subaru was full to the
ceiling and was spilling over onto Laps. We hit
Safeway in Kings Beach Later as we couldn't hold
anymore in the car in Carson.
That night We started the Margaritas, premium beer,
wine, sherry and Port. Lisa made her Homemade Chili
over rice. Olive Bread, salad, etc. By now the party
was starting to rock. Oh, the crew already working had
be dragged off their work stations. Fun is fun I
reckon. Barry Caffee, Helga Cambell, Thom Vanbogard,
Mark Nave, David Whetzel, Ed Martin, Cheryl Lawson,
Laura Bryan, John Schultheis and Mark Hochendoner had
joined us. Mike Martin joined us the next morning.
Saturday morning everyone broke into teams and work
fun began. Every objective was accomplished and Some
Hot Tub upgrades took place that were not on the list.
What a Crew. People moved between crews so everyone
helped everyone. There was beer, soda pop and water on
ice all day in a Large Red Tub.
Oh, the weather turned out to be a Lake Tahoe
beautiful day. Ho-Hum.
Laura led the team on the newly decorated bathroom
upstairs. Totally Cool. You will have to see it when
you get up here.
Cheryl led the team that could make Room 7 the most
popular deluxe room. Come up and check it out.
The Shed has been totally rewired by the team led by
Rich Fisher. Rich worked until Wednesday to complete
it. Considering that the effort began on Friday with
Dan, Mark N. David and others pitching in. What a big
job. Yes Racers, there will be heat to tune your skis
next winter.
Helga and Mark Hochendoner conducted the Attic
Treasure Hunt. Ahhhh, they opened the attic window and
thrust everything out. What Fun. The Attic is so
organized that we are already saving money by cutting
my trips to ACE.
Thom Vanbogard led the Yard Beautification team. It
looks beautiful. Oh, the horseshoe pits are back in
action.
You should have seen your President Ed and Race
director John stacking wood. Problem is that it looks
so pretty they don't want us burning any wood.
Wouldn't want to disturb the beauty. Oh, We have
already had rip roaring fires. Oh Well.
The Picnic area now extends all the way to the Hot
Tub. It has gravel, electric outlets, Mood Lights,
Robe Cover (snow use to get robes wet), new improved
drainage, an additional new picnic table
and----Shucks, just come on up. Thank you Barry Caffee
and team.
Saturday night was Gourmet eating with Lisa Saxe
leading the Food team. Salmon, Steak, Veggies, Special
cooked Chicken, and Much Much More. Ed led the
Pino-colados, Margarita Smoothies and other libations.
An Absolute fabulous party came about. People moved
from Lodge Partying to Hot Tub Partying and back. A
Great time was had by all. Sunday was finish day with
some people staying over until Monday.
OK, so some of us gained weight. The smiles on our
faces said it all. This Crew took Smiley faces to a
whole new meaning.
This was the perfect event where the club gives back
to the members while they are giving to the club. It
has truly become a traditional annual Event.
