Après is well known for its numerous activities and social events. A
synopsis on how this works:
There are 12 members at large who are appointed "Directors" by
Après' officers. These directors are then assigned to oversee
various functions within the club, which include our main activity groups: ski racing,
land sports, water sports and social activities.
These directors work with the membership to plan and organize activities and events
for the membership to enjoy.
Après looks to members in general to run events although this may well include directors.
The main responsibility of any director is to solicit and advise members on leading events,
scheduling events with the Event Calendar and reconciling any accounting involved.
All Après specific events are listed in the
Après' Scribe where lead times allow and on our Après
home page.

| Skiing |
Mostly we ski at Tahoe and we stay at the Après Lodge located in Kings Beach,
in what's known as "unorganized" fashion.
Unorganized means if there is no special event, just come up and stay.
Historically there has always been room at the Lodge. For more details go to the
Lodge Procedures page.
We also have "Organized" skiing events that include food and perhaps a theme.
Organized skiing events require a lodge reservation.

Ski Racing
Racing Page
|
Après has a very successful race team which has been competing and winning the
Open League Championships for years. The Après' Racing Director
aligns race weekends with the OLRC racing calendar. All Après' members
are encouraged to join the race team which has classes from novice to very advanced.
You definitely do not have to be a expert skier to join the Après Racing Team.

Après has an active tennis group with the most membership participation outside
of skiing.

| Land Sports
|
Land sports include roller-blading, hiking, bike riding, back-packing and similar
activities. Our
Sports or Activities Director will be delighted to help you run an event or hear of
new ideas.
Our regular Wednesday morning hike is at
Rancho San Antonio County Park (RSA.)
This hike is as much social as it is about exercise. After (Après) the hike we
meet at a local shop which serves coffee and bagels. We also have garden produce
swaps during the growing season. For the hike, meet on Wednesdays at the
RSA
restrooms parking lot, at 8:30 a.m. (Hint, be punctual.) The hike takes about one and one half hours with
about 800 feet of elevation change. This activity is open to non-members as well.

| Water Sports
|
Water Sports include kayaking, white water rafting, sailing on the bay and water
skiing. We also have members that scuba-dive
on a regular basis. If you are particularly interested in water skiing check
out our sister club Fun and Sun
Also contact our
Sports or Activities Director for more info.

| Social
|
Our most regular social event is our weekly
TGIF
meeting at various cocktail lounges starting at 5:00 p.m. Look for lodge
events year around and local events after the snow melts. Our home page is
always full of interesting social events, year around.
|
| Club Meetings
|
Our general club meetings are usually held in the evening of the second Wednesday
of each month. From May to September, we have a Barbeque. Our general
meetings except for the barbeque, are "no" host. Our meetings are also open
to non-members, if there is a charge a guest fee is addedd.
Check our home page for
the current general meeting time and location.
