Simple Directions:
Take Interstate 80 East, past Sacramento, and at Trukee take exit 188B to hwy 267 south
towards Kings Beach and Lake Tahoe. At Kinks Beach, the end of hwy 267, make a left at North Lake Blvd (Hwy 28)
then at second main intersection, a left onto Bear St. and then second right on Rainbow Ave.
The Après Lodge will be on your left. Look for our "BRAND NEW" sign out front.
Precautions:
If you are doing this trip in the winter time, pack for the worst conditions: winterize your car, carry snow
chains, carry extra food and water, carry extra blankets in case your engine stalls and can't generate heat,
and anything else you can think of for surviving sub zero temperatures. Just remember, if your engine fails,
it will only be a matter of a few minutes before the inside of your car is as cold as the outside of your car.
When parked at the lodge in the winter time, don't leave any gear in your car, especially a camera. Your car
will be like the freezer section of your refrigerator. I don't think you would put a bottle of water in your
freezer or a six pack either nor would you purposely put a camera in a freezer. In another words, remember
that your car is indeed a freezer if parked over night at Tahoe in the winter, and act and pack your car
accordingly.
Also, speaking of cold weather, that car battery that worked perfectly fine in San Jose, may not work at
all when the temperature falls below freezing in Tahoe. The point is, fully winterize your car before
venturing up to Tahoe.
